The interactivity of the 4 “sections” of ICB is ensured by 5 “Inter-Section Disciplinary Groups”:

1. Building the bricks for our home: synthesis of organic molecules

2. When “small” meets “big”: molecular recognition and its biological consequences

3. Natural products: "tiny" molecules with "great" applications

4. (Biologic)al minds: the profilers of the biomolecules

5. A factory of biological systems and processes

The activities of the 5 Inter-Section Disciplinary Groups are organized in a way to: a) facilitate the activities of the other groups also through organic synthesis (group 1), b) advance our knowledge (groups 1, 2, 3, 4) and c) translate it to the development of new technologies (groups 3, 4, 5)
